Echebastar Renews its MSC Certification, Starting a New Five-Year Cycle

We are proud to announce that, following the completion of the audit and objection procedures, Echebastar has renewed its prestigious MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certification. As such, the entire Echebastar fleet is certified for skipjack tuna purse seine fishing in the Indian Ocean. As of July 2024, we’re beginning a new five-year cycle with new challenges under this label that guarantees our well-managed fishing practices.

MSC certification is widely recognised as the most rigorous global standard in the fishing sector. It ensures that our products have been harvested according to the highest standards of sustainability and environmental responsibility. Not only does this certification renewal reaffirm our commitment to ocean conservation and the protection of marine species, but it also underlines our dedication to ethical and responsible fishing practices.

At Echebastar, our strong vision of sustainability and respect for the environment dates back to 1967. This achievement is a testament to our continuous efforts to innovate and lead in the fishing sector, adapting to the demands of a market that is increasingly aware of the importance of sustainability.

Our MSC certification renewal confirms our dedication and efforts to implement best practices and to promote the social equity and well-being of our workers. We will continue striving to maintain these high standards and working to ensure the long-term health of marine ecosystems and the communities who depend on fishing.

This new five-year cycle with MSC certification represents not only a milestone for our company but also an impetus to continue with our mission of becoming leaders in sustainable fishing and social responsibility. Thank you all for supporting and trusting in Echebastar!
