Bermeo, our hometown, represents a lot of things: the spirit of its people and their long-standing fishing tradition. Bermeo is also the tuna capital of the world, home to Alakrana.
This town, its people and its tuna have recently had their moment in their spotlight on Masterchef. An episode of this popular TV show was shot right here. We gave them the best of us. The contestants used our tuna to cook marmitako (tuna stew) and ventresca a la parrilla (grilled tuna belly).
